Is this the saddest thing you've ever seen?

I tried to re-cover a chair and foot stool in different fabric.

It looked so bad that I tore the whole chair apart:
Take that you evil chair!

Seriously though: I like to take things
apart to learn how they're made.

These attempts were a little more successful:
(with the emphasis on little)
A little wooden bed.
I still need to paint a design on it.

A couch/bench thingy.
Or maybe it could be a massage table for the Zen/Spa room.

In any case, I have great admiration for people who create miniatures.
It is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be.
Every little imperfection gets magnified at small scale!

I won something!

And it's very cute:

From Norma at "make mine mini" .
I am one of those people who never win anything.
I'm so happy to win this.
Thanks Norma!

Lights at night

A little dark for cooking maybe.

Adding some kitchen lights.

Ping pong light fixture over the table

Popsicle stick/paint caps over the (future)work table.

Also there is one under the stove hood.
These lights aren't very bright. I hope they light up the room..

Messy wiring in the back.

Completing the upstairs rooms

Layout some funiture to see where to put the wall.

Duct tape is very useful to seal light leaks in the back.

Lots of small windows-this will be a kids'room and a small lounge area..
This has been a very fun project. To add a little bit each evening after work is a nice way to relax.

New rooms

I took everything down so I could glue and pin the walls and make the structure stronger. While I was at it decided to re-design some things and add some spaces too.

Covered patio

Black room

Top floor - wall with door

Striped furniture is from Melissa and Doug, wall paper is Japanese screen print paper. The translucent hangings in the covered patio are Nepalese oil paper from the art supply store.
