Constuction with foam-core

I made a house out of foam core .
The floor and back wall are one piece scored on the back and folded. The wall paper is craft paper from the hobby store. The green wall has faded already so will have to find some better paper to use.

O.K. I might be hooked

I thought I would try creating a room from foam-core board.
A floor and a back wall with one window. It looks much more realistic than the shelf.
I set it on the sill so the light would shine in the room window.

My "Dollhouse"

My mini-room is in a shelf unit that is hanging on the wall.
Those are some wood blocks from a garage sale and a red box for a Chinese artists' stamp.
No way am I going to buy an actual dollhouse, I don't have the room or money for that.

Desk

I couldn't resist this desk ('Concord') I saw on Ebay.
Of course I had to get some accessories to go with it.
I made the little chair out of cardboard.

Love the Miniatures!

I was captivated by this article in the NY Times about miniatures.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/08/garden/08mod.html
I knew if I read more about them and looked at the blogs and photos on the Web that
I would end up creating a miniature scene of my own. I tried to resist. (really)
I have done something similar in the past to set up a still life to paint.
